Brrrr.....It's cold!

Hi, everyone.  Yes we have been very fortunate here this winter. It has been very mild and we haven't had a lot of dreary days.  But as always in Ohio, if you stick around for an hour or two, the weather will change drastically.  Today the temperature didn't get out of the teens.  My hubby said it got up to 23 degrees but you can't prove that by me.  Brrrr.........

I mentioned in December of 2018 we lost our beloved English Mastiff, Anna.

We missed her so much but had decided that we were not going to get any more fur babies.  First of all, we were enjoying the freedom of not rushing home to take care of the dog.  So we have been loving on all of our friend's and family's fur babies and we were fine with that.

Well, fate has a way of changing one's mind.  This little gal showed up at our barn last summer and we are now smitten with her.  Most of our barn cats are aloof and will not let us touch them.  They tolerate us in their territory simply because we come bearing food twice a day.  Otherwise, they would just as soon never see us, period.  But KitKit was different. She wanted to be petted and she loves to play and be right where we are.  She sucked us in!

Now, she is a born barn cat, and we didn't want to take her out of her natural environment, but we wanted her to be a little more protected than the normal grumpy cats.  So as the weather got colder and colder we put her in our old milk house.  We have to keep this room from freezing since it feeds the water cups to the rest of the barn for the beef cattle.  We were not sure how she would like being penned in, but we knew we had to give it a try.  We took her in there, we put down a litter box and food and water.  She immediately went to the litter box and used it!  She jumped up on the little table we had her food on and began to eat.  She was not one bit upset to be in a comfy warm spot and before we left her for the night she found one of Ron's old coats he had in there for emergencies and made herself a nice bed. Needless to say, she has a nice place to be inside this cold weather.

I actually have been quilting and making projects (when I'm not playing with the kitty).  Here are a few of the things I am making for the first of the craft shows and for in my store this spring.

I must go for now.  Next time I will tell you more of the saga of the KitKit.  It is a doozy of a story!  But until then remember...

Keep on Quiltin'!
