Time Flies!

I really can't believe it has been months since I have been here.  It has been a whirlwind of activity this fall.  My husband is closing down the cattle raising as of this Thursday.  He will continue to raise crops on the farm, but no more cattle.  It has just become to much at our age.

But we always seem to keep busy.  I am making quillows for Christmas presents and I have finished the first one.  This one is for my grand nephew.  This was my first one and loved making it.  I definitely will continue for the rest of the family.  Here are some pics.

This is the finished quilt

Closeup

I used a panel of Spiderman and made borders for around the panel until I had the size of a youth quilt.
Fold the quilt in thirds

The pocket on the back
There is a pocket centered at the bottom on the backside of the quilt.  You need to reach in and grab the corners of the quilt.  Then turn the pocket inside out.

Pocket after the turn

I put Spiderman's face on the backside of the pocket so it will be the front of the pillow when it is turned.

Fold in thirds down from the top

Stuff the pocket

After folding in thirds, stuff the quilt down into the pocket.  It will take a little work to stuff the folds into the pocket but it is so worth it when you are done.  It will look just like a pillow. Little kids and big kids alike really love this!
DaDa! A pillow!
I really had a good time experimenting with this. I hope you will give this a try.  These are the neatest gifts.
Keep on quilting!
