Lovin' the quiltin'

Wow have I been busy! The weather is getting better here in Northeastern Ohio, but I am not going to get my hopes up that spring is completely here.  After all, this is Ohio. We have two seasons, Orange Barrel season and Winter!

I want to thank Tamara and  everyone at Buttonmad for the adorable Bunny Buttons I won. This is a wonderful organization giving employment to women in South Africa. Please take a look at their website www.button mad.com . They have some great handmade buttons.

I have also been busy using up some of my scrap stash.  I have been informed by my family that they would like some tied quilts like Great Grandma Beegle used to make, so I am going to give it a try. Here is what I have so far.

What do you think?  Should I continue with this or use my scraps to heat the house?

Have a great day and keep on quilting!

  1. Nice use of your scraps. That's more work than I would do for a tied quilt though. I just do squares. My mom tied quilts too. I would rather quilt mine.

  2. love it! tied quilts can be fun too. I tied one many years ago when my brother was first married. His first daughter used to lay on the bed and play with the ties. I used mercerized thread and wet it and tied so they were extra taut. they still have it!20 something years later
