TGIF

So glad it is Friday, and Good Friday makes it even better.  I will not be able to finish my Bunny wall hanging until next week, but at least he will be ready for next Easter.  I have decided to do a charity quilt, but I haven't found where to go yet.  I have just been doing this internet blogging for a short time and sometimes I am a little behind the times, if you get what I mean.

Today is FMQ Friday linkup with Leah Day http://freemotionquilting.blogspot.com/  I have been practicing my free motion quilting and I love her fillers and videos on how to do them.  I used my Bunny quilt border to practice my pebbling.  What do you think?  I really like the effect, however it takes a lot of time and thread to fill up a large area.

These are a few of my samples I made to teach a class on free motion quilting.  I hope to do some more classes this summer.  I realize people would rather have classes in the winter months while they are shut in.  But it just seems like the weather and roads keep me from getting out and about.  I love being retired, but I dislike being old.  Who knew?

Here are some swirls I was practicing.

And a practice piece I really had fun doing.

Happy Easter and Keep Quilting!

  3. Hello Norma,

Wonderful quilting! You must use absolutely miles of thread!

  4. Your pebbling looks great. After using it in the border of a quilt, I have to agree that it takes a lot of time and a lot of thread ... I love the look, but personally, will think about how to use it in a smaller way next time ;-)

  5. Love your quilting! I really love your pebbles. So nice and even. I'm working on swirls but find them difficult to keep so even. Love yours!

  7. I love your practice piece. I, also, am retired. And I find it difficult to get out and about in the Winter. Don't be so sure that people prefer classes in the Winter.
